I really liked this miniature when I first saw it so I bought it as soon as it was available. I certainly wasn't disappointed with the actual sculpt but as with many Rackham miniatures it really is too fine in certain areas. The miniature snapped at the ankles whilst I was cleaning it up and I wrecked the banner where it joins to the main body because it is too fine to form a robust joint. Needless to say that that miniature was thrown into the 'buggered miniatures draw' and promptly forgotten about. About a month later I was asked to paint the same miniature for a customer, I wasn't overly keen but accepted nonetheless. This time around I was careful to an extreme and managed to finish the miniature without breaking anything (I did use a new miniature, the other is still lamenting its fragility from the depths of the BMD)...
The miniature certainly looks like a demented surgeon so I tried for a colour similar to that of surgeon's greens for the overcoat and the other colours just sorted themselves out from there. The base is once again made from cork sheeting which I cut to an appropriate size for the base and then tore at with tweezers to get an irregular look to the edges.
If you have any comments to make about the miniature or questions to ask regarding it feel free to do so in the forum section of the site.
